ATTEMPTED CARJACKING: Eastern District -- A Northeast Baltimore woman was stopped at a red light in the 900 block of Greenmount Ave. at 1 a.m. yesterday when a man requested a lift, then tried to break into her car while a second man tried to pull the keys from the ignition. The woman escaped by driving through the intersection.

STOLEN AUTO: Eastern District -- A blue 1988 Plymouth Sundance parked in the 1400 block of N. Central Ave. was stolen between 9 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday. The car had Maryland tags YWX 997.

LARCENY: Eastern District -- Vandals broke into a 1978 Chevrolet van in a parking lot in the 2300 block of E. Chase St. between 7:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Saturday and stole saws and drills valued at $1,100.

SHOOTING/ARRESTS: Eastern District: Two young men were charged with spraying the back of a house in the 600 block of N. Ellwood Ave. with gunfire about 12:50 a.m. Saturday. No one was injured.

PURSE-SNATCHING: Northeastern District: Two men stole a purse from a 79-year-old woman in the 5100 block of Plymouth Road shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday. The purse contained $130 and a pair of prescription eye glasses. The victim was not injured.

BREAKING AND ENTERING: Northeastern District: A Magnavox video cassette recorder and a Magnavox compact disc player were reported stolen from a home in the 2500 block of Hermosa Ave. on Saturday. The residents were on vacation.

PURSE-SNATCHING ATTEMPT: Catonsville Precinct -- A Giant Food employee was leaving the store in the 4600 block of Wilkens Ave. at midnight Saturday when a man drove up and tried to pull her purse from her arm. The victim struggled, and the strap broke, but she kept the purse.

BURGLARY: Catonsville Precinct -- An intruder broke into a house in the 500 block of Academy Road around 4:30 a.m. Saturday and took $350 in coins that were in jars and stole a car that was recovered.

BURGLARY: Catonsville Precinct -- Someone broke in through a kitchen window of a townhouse in the 3700 block of McDowell Lane between 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. yesterday and stole $90, costume jewelry and a leather purse.

THEFT: Catonsville Precinct -- Someone bent the door frame of a 1990 Dodge Shadow parked in the 3700 block of McDowell Lane between 11:45 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. yesterday, and took a stereo, speakers and cassette tapes valued at $645.

THEFT: Catonsville Precinct -- Someone broke into a 1985 Ford Escort parked in the 1200 block of Poplar Ave. between 2 a.m. and 11 a.m. yesterday. Reported taken were an amplifier, speakers and compact discs valued at $700.

ARMED ROBBERY: Woodlawn Precinct -- The shift supervisor at a KFC restaurant in the 6500 block of Baltimore National Pike said a man in a black ski mask struck him in the back of his head with a revolver and took $2,893.59 from his office safe Friday night.

ARMED ROBBERY: Woodlawn Precinct -- A Pizza Boli's delivery man was robbed late Saturday in the 6300 block of Linus Drive of two pizzas and $30 by a man wearing a black ski mask.

BURGLARY: Woodlawn District: Someone broke into a home in the 5900 block of Franklin Ave. early Saturday and stole two televisions, two videocassette recorders, and Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo video equipment.

ROBBERY: Towson Precinct -- An elderly woman was walking in the 100 block of Judges Lane shortly after 11:45 p.m. Saturday when a robber who displayed no weapon demanded money and took her purse containing $40.

BURGLARY: North Point Precinct -- Owners of a house in the 7000 block of Dunbar Road returned to find the front door ajar and an internal alarm sounding. Police could not determine how the entry was made, but said nothing was stolen and the alarm may have scared whoever entered the house between 10 a.m. Saturday and 12:45 a.m. yesterday.

STOLEN AUTO: White Marsh District -- A 1973 Cadillac with Maryland tags ANA 816 was reported stolen from the 8000 block of Philadelphia Road early Saturday.
