Man accused of selling pound of drug

As a result of a monthlong investigation, Carroll County Narcotics Task Force officers arrested a Glen Burnie man Thursday night on charges connected to the sale of a pound of suspected marijuana to an undercover officer in Finksburg.

The suspect was arrested immediately after officers made the purchase, Carroll County State's Attorney Jerry F. Barnes said Friday.

The alleged drugs, which would have a street value of about $4,000, were seized and the undercover officer's money was recovered, Mr. Barnes said.

Police did not find any weapons, and the car the suspect was driving was not seized because it is owned by someone else, Mr. Barnes said.

"This was a very significant arrest," Mr. Barnes said. "A pound is a very, very large amount for this county."

Anthony Lee Wilson, 31, of the 300 block of Lori Drive in Glen Burnie was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of marijuana.

The suspect was being held yesterday at the Carroll County Detention Center in lieu of $75,000 bond
