Armed man robs Odenton video store

A man armed with a long-barreled revolver robbed an Odenton video store of an undisclosed amount of money Thursday night, county police said.

The man walked into Odenton Video, in the 1100 block of Annapolis Road, about 9:15 p.m. and asked the clerk, Deborah )) Ann Grimm, 36, for change for a $10 bill. As the clerk opened the register, the man pulled out a silver revolver and ordered her to put cash from the drawer into a blue plastic bag he had hidden under his shirt.

The robber then ordered the clerk to the rear of the store and fled through the back door. He escaped in a blue car that was parked in the front of the store, police said.

Pizza deliveryman robbed on the job

A man carrying a small handgun robbed a pizza deliveryman of an undetermined amount of money Thursday evening in the 500 block of Brookwood Road in Brooklyn Park county police said.

The delivery man was returning to his car shortly after 11 p.m. after dropping off a pizza when he was approached by a man who flashed a small handgun and demanded money. The deliveryman handed it over, and the man fled west on 11th Avenue.

Glen Burnie box office robbed at gunpoint

A man who pulled a small revolver from the pocket of his trousers robbed a movie theater in Glen Burnie Town Center Thursday night, county police said.

The man approached the Sony Theatres box office shortly after 10 p.m. and inquired about a movie. He walked away, then came back, pulled the revolver out of his pants and told the clerk, "Don't do anything stupid. Just give me all your money," police said.

The clerk handed over an undetermined amount of money, and the man fled toward Ritchie Highway.

Golf carts vandalized, wrecked during joy ride

Thieves took six golf carts from the Walden Golf Club in Crofton for a joy ride Wednesday morning and crashed them into each other, county police said. A security guard at the course told police he heard one of the high-powered golf carts, worth $3,800 each, start shortly after midnight Wednesday. Then he saw it heading down Reidel Road toward Davidsonville Road. The guard did not see the driver.

When police arrived, the thieves fled. The next morning, course employees recovered the damaged carts.

On the golf course, a club employee found a pocketknife that police suspect was used to start the carts.

Man snatches purse, escapes on motorcycle

A man wearing a motorcycle helmet snatched a woman's purse in a Crofton restaurant Wednesday evening and taunted his victim before fleeing from county police, authorities said.

The man entered Jasper's Restaurant in the 1600 block of Route 3, grabbed the 35-year-old woman's purse and fled. She called police and was waiting outside when the man cruised past on a yellow motorcycle and threw her emptied purse onto the ground.

He also honked his horn and waved at the woman before speeding south on Route 3, nearly striking a state police car.

County police said officers started to chase the man but gave up.

The woman reported losing a bracelet, credit cards and $40.
