Consultants group elects Morgan president
James G. Morgan, chief executive officer of Morgan Financial Group in Lutherville, has been elected president of the Baltimore Chapter of the American Society of Chartered Life Underwriters & Chartered Financial Consultants.
A Glen Arm resident, Mr. Morgan previously served as secretary-treasurer, vice president and president-elect of the local arm of the national society of insurance professionals. He has more than 35 years of experience in the industry.
Other members of the executive committee are Michael O. Brooks, Weinstein Brooks Associates, president-elect; Charles E. Klein, Mayer, Steinberg & Yospe, vice president; Charles Ross Carozza, Berkshire Associates, treasurer.
Alvin Shapiro of Shapiro Pension Consultants will remain on the board as immediate past president.
Partnership creates 'catering consortium'
Nick Sheridan of Cuisine Catering and Monroe Zeffert and Aaron Gold of Zeffert & Gold Catering have formed a partnership called the Maryland Catering Consortium.
Their new offices on Whitestone Road in Baltimore are twice the size of the caterers' previous spaces, allowing them to handle larger and more complicated projects.
Bozzuto, Lowenstein form marketing firm
Barbara Bozzuto and Lance S. Lowenstein have established Bozzuto-Lowenstein Marketing Group Inc., an event planning and sports marketing company on Water Street in Baltimore.
Ms. Bozzuto was president of Bozzuto Consulting Group since 1991 and coordinated national sports events and local fund-raisers.
Mr. Lowenstein was director of public relations with Airship International Ltd. for six years, developing national tours to promote clients.
Warner Plumbing acquires Aquapure
Warner Plumbing of Maryland Inc. has acquired Aquapure, a Potomac water treatment company, and named the new division Warner Water Treatment.
The division will sell, lease and service water-purification equipment, service well pumps and tanks, and test for contaminants.
Bruce Slattery, who ran Aquapure with his father, Carroll Slattery, will stay on as vice president of the new division, based in the company's Jessup office.
Housman elected to underwriters board
Chuck Housman, regional director of sales in the Baltimore office of New York Life/HealthPlus, has been elected to the board of the Baltimore Health Underwriters Association for the 1995-1996 term.
The Baltimore Health Underwriters Association is part of the Maryland Health Underwriters Association, the state chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters.
NAHU is a professional association representing more than 12,000 health insurance benefit advocates.
