BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a storage room in an apartment building in the 1600 block of Belmor Court yesterday and stole a refrigerator.

SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 6100 block of The Alameda was in the 800 block of Braddish Ave. yesterday when a man shot him in buttocks. The victim was treated at Bon Secours Hospital.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police were seeking a man who robbed a small food market in the 3300 block of Greenmount Ave. of $100 yesterday. After ordering a pound of cheese, the man opened an unattended cash register and was removing the money when a female employee approached him. During a struggle, the man struck the employee in the face. The woman responded by biting the man on the left arm. The employee recognized the suspect as a regular customer.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of Bermuda reported someone stole $500 and more than $300 worth of jewelry from her safe deposit box at the Village of Cross Keys in the 5100 block of Falls Road yesterday.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A 61-year-old man was walking in an alley behind the 400 block of Venable Ave. on his way home from shopping yesterday when two men robbed him of $35.

Baltimore County

STOLEN CAR: White Marsh Precinct -- A 1993 Subaru Legacy with tags CAP 563 and valued at $17,000 was stolen yesterday from the parking lot at the Golden Ring Mall in the 6400 block of Rossville Blvd.

GUN VIOLATION/ARREST: North Point Precinct -- James A. Johnson, 17, of the 200 block of Chestnut St. in Turners Station, was arrested yesterday and charged as an adult with illegal possession of a 9-mm handgun. Tuesday night, Mr. Johnson was standing in the 100 block of Oak St. near Maine Street in Turners Station when someone in a passing car fired a shot that struck him in the leg. Following treatment at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, the Mr. Johnson was released.


DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/ARREST: Abingdon -- The estranged husband of a resident of the 100 block of Walden Court was arrested yesterday and charged with two counts of destruction of property. Charles A. Wright, 37, of the 200 block of Ellerslie Court in Abingdon, is accused of pouring water and sugar in the gas tank of his wife's 1991 Dodge, pouring sugar in the car's oil in-take tube and radiator and cutting the car's spark plug wires and brake lines. The man also is accused of pouring sugar and water in the gas tank of his son's 1987 Ford and cutting its spark plug wires. Mr. Wright, an employee of a plastic manufacturing firm, was released on is own recognizance.
