Several area performers are on stage and behind the scenes at the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre production of "Annie."
Anita Patton and Maurie O'Connor of Crofton are music directors for the show. Crofton residents Kathy Nolet and her daughter, Cami, can be seen singing and dancing in many of the show's lively musical numbers.
Gambrills resident Ashley Adkins is one of two girls sharing the lead role. Ashley, who will be a sixth-grader at Old Mill Middle School South, is the daughter of Jami and Terry Adkins.

The Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church is sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Anyone in good health and at least 17 years old may donate. The church is aiming for a goal of 45 donors.

Anne Arundel Medical Center will present a workshop for parents, child care providers and any other interested parties from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Odenton Elementary School.
The workshop offers basic survival techniques for providing a healthy diet for the preschool crowd, including nutritional information, meal and snack ideas. The cost for this workshop is $5.

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce is developing a full-color map that pinpoints area businesses.
The map will include services such as restaurants, gas stations and other retail establishments. It will make its debut at tours of the Dream Homes in Piney Orchard from Sept. 9 to Sept. 24.
Circulation will be between 20,000 and 75,000, depending on the number of advertisers.
The cost to be included on the map is $75 for chamber members and $210 for nonmembers. Reservations must be paid for by July 25.
