In East Columbia, the community associations of Kings TC Contrivance, Long Reach, Oakland Mills and Owen Brown villages invite audiences to listen to the Hammond Jazz Band at 8 p.m. today at Lake Elkhorn Bowl, Broken Land Parkway, Owen Brown Village. The popular and talented Hammond High School students are sure to have hands clapping and toes tapping.

Have you tried the "fresh from the farm" vegetables and fruits that are available every Thursday at the Farmers Market on site in the Oakland Mills Village parking lot, 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.?

There's also free advice on preparation of produce, plus recipes that you may not have tried. Customers can select fresh breads, flowers and garden plants, too.
