Woman raped Millersville man charged

A Millersville man was arrested yesterday and charged with raping a woman in Glen Burnie, county police said.

A police report said that early yesterday morning the woman and two men were in a car owned by one of the men when the driver got out.

The other man then drove the woman to the end of Oakwood Village Road about 3 a.m., raped her and then let her out at an apartment complex, police said.

A friend took the woman to North Arundel Hospital, where she was in stable condition yesterday, police said.

Sylvester E. Quarrels, 20, of the 600 block of Route 3 was charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sex offense, false imprisonment and unauthorized use of a vehicle. He was arrested at a home in the 7900 block of Silent Winds Court, Glen Burnie, police said.

Mr. Quarrels was being held without bail yesterday at the Anne Arundel County House of Corrections.
