Rangers update

It's only a two-game series but this one will be a real grudge match. You've got former Orioles (manager Johnny Oates, utility man Mark McLemore, outfielder Jack Voigt and designated hitter Mickey Tettleton) on one side and former Rangers (Kevin Brown, Rafael Palmeiro, Jeff Huson and Jamie Moyer) on the other. Oates is happy with his club (42-31), which, with last night's 5-2 win in Boston, is one game out of first in the AL West. McLemore did not start Friday night with a slightly pulled groin muscle but was back in the lineup last night and has appeared in all 73 of the team's games. His .339 average (20-for-59) leads the team with runners in scoring position and his 18 steals are seventh in the American League. The seldom-used Voigt was 0-for-2 last night, but had three hits in his last start before that on July 7, including a home run and a double. His average has dropped from .400 to .188. Tettleton, who did not play last night because of a pull in his left rib cage, leads the team with 15 homers, including three in six games. He has started two games in left field.
