Career record
Infielder is a career .283 hitter. Batted .301 last season for the Florida Marlins, reaching career highs in nearly every offensive category despite two stays on the disabled list. Was acquired by the Orioles for minor-league pitcher Jay Powell in December. Played with current Orioles teammate Ben McDonald on the 1988 U.S. Olympic team, which won the gold medal. Was an All-Pacific-10 Conference first-team selection with Southern Cal in 1988.

"On national TV, having a shaving-cream pie put in my face. The Expos did that to me a couple of years ago when I got traded to Florida. That's a pretty good embarrassing moment."
