Five Columbians face drug charges


Two adults and three teen-age youths were arrested on drug charges early yesterday morning in the parking lot of a Columbia convenience store, Howard County police said.

Officers in the street drug division were called to investigate a disorderly conduct call from the 5800 block of Stevens Forest Road at about 1 a.m. Police said they found what they said was marijuana and LSD, along with pipes, rolling papers and $776.

Michael Anthony Bennett, 25, of the 5800 block of Stevens Forest Road in Columbia was held on $2,500 bond at the Howard County Detention Center yesterday.

Krystal D. Nuhn, 19, of the 9200 block of Red Cart Court in Columbia was released on personal recognizance.

Two 17-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy -- all of Columbia -- were released to the custody of their parents or guardians, police said.


* Long Reach: 6000 block of Majors Lane: Someone pried open the window of a 1995 Toyota Camry and tried to steal it by tampering with the ignition Monday morning, police said.
