A 30-year-old man who says he lives in his truck was arrested Sunday and charged with drug possession and driving while intoxicated.
The man, who gave his address as his truck, was stopped Sunday afternoon by state Tfc. Christopher Hannon along Bachmans Valley Road near Melrose after the trooper suspected him of exceeding the 50 mph speed limit.
According to charging documents, the trooper noticed a truck going 78 mph. He stopped the truck, and a man immediately walked out. The trooper reported that he noticed the "strong odor of alcohol" and also found a burnt marijuana cigarette under the driver's seat.
Timothy Troy Doss was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, speeding and other traffic offenses.
He was ordered held at the Carroll County Detention Center in lieu of $5,000 bond pending a bail hearing this morning in Carroll District Court.
