Gunman robs man on Home Depot lot

An Arnold man was robbed at gunpoint Saturday on the parking lot of the Glen Burnie Home Depot store, county police said.

Thomas Conrad Derrenberger, 42, was walking to his car parked on the east corner of the store's lot in the 500 block of E. Ordnance Road. About 10:15 a.m., a man walking along Blades Lane crossed a grass median and came up behind Mr. Derrenberger as he bent over the passenger seat of his car.

"I see your wallet. Let's have it," the man said as he put a gun in the victim's back. Mr. Derrenberger handed over his wallet containing an undisclosed amount of money. The robber stuck the small silver revolver in his waistband and walked away.

* Glen Burnie: County police charged Michael L. Belton Sr., 37, of Severna with assault, robbery and theft Saturday for allegedly striking a clerk at a gas station in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway and dragging her across the floor during a robbery.
