Michael the Magician is back at 11 a.m, 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. today at the Odenton Branch Library and 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Provinces Branch Library.
This magician has plenty of new comedy magic tricks up his sleeves, with lots of audience participation. This event is for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade.
During the presentation at Odenton, "Kindermusik" will be held simultaneously for preschoolers to grade three. "Kindermusik" is a program of interactive songs and rhythm games to help kids gain an appreciation for music at an early age.

The theme for the Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church vacation Bible school this year will be "Turnabout Paul."
The letters from Paul will come alive during this week. This year's vacation Bible school will be held at 6:30 p.m. July 16 through July 21. This is a great time of study, fellowship, and fun together for all ages.
Registration forms are available in the church narthex. Registration is important to ensure that there are enough books and materials for everyone. Registration fee is $2 per child (maximum $5 per family).

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will have a general membership luncheon July 13, with guest speaker Gov. Parris N. Glendening.
Registration begins at 11:15 a.m. with the business meeting at 11:30 a.m., at the Holiday Inn Express, 7481 Ridge Road in Hanover. The business meeting will be held before the luncheon and Mr. Glendening's remarks. Mr. Glendening will give his views of issues that affect the business community.
The cost is $20 for chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. Guests and prospective members are welcome.

O'Malley Senior Center will sponsor a program on financial planning from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., July 12.
Among the questions to be answered are "What is the major risk to my assets?", "What are my chances of outliving my assets?", "Are my assets taking advantage of meaningful diversification?" and "Can I be reasonably certain of an expected return on investments?"
This workshop presented by Roger Thusius, a certified financial planner and certified fund specialist, will explore how assets can be invested to meet both short-term and long-term objectives. Registration is required.
