BURGLARY: Northern District -- Chinquapin Middle School at 900 Woodbourne Ave. was broken into Saturday morning, but police did not know if anything was taken. Police saw three people leaving a broken window, but the intruders escaped.

* SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- A 16-year-old youth was shot in the right side by an unknown assailant Saturday afternoon while he was standing at the 2000 block of N. Forest Park Ave. The gunman drove up in a late-model green Toyota, stepped out and fired, police said. The victim was being treated at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

* LARCENY FROM AUTO: Southern District -- A family visiting the Babe Ruth Museum on Saturday returned to their car in the 200 block of Emory St. to find a window smashed and $600 worth of possessions -- a suitcase, pocketbook, music tapes, a camera and money -- missing.


* ROBBERY: Catonsville Precinct -- A Crown gas station in the 5200 block of Baltimore National Pike was robbed of $100 early Saturday by a man carrying a bundle of flares who threatened to blow up the station. The robber walked up to the cashier about 1:15 a.m., placed the flares on the floor and threatened to ignite the package. He fled, leaving the flares behind.

* ARMED ROBBERY: Woodlawn Precinct -- An employee was bound with duct tape and handcuffs yesterday morning by two men who took a large sum of money from the safe of Checks and More, a business in the 5600 block of Baltimore National Pike. Police said the robbers had waited on the roof and watched the employee enter the business around 10 a.m., followed her and confronted her at gunpoint.
