Fulton man, 23, charged in 2 break-ins

A 23-year-old Fulton man was being held at the Howard County Detention Center in lieu of more than $1 million bond yesterday on charges of breaking and entering, theft and destruction of property in connection with two break-ins in the western part of the county earlier this month.

William J. Kohlhoff Jr. of the 7100 block of Pindell School Road was arrested and charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of theft and two counts of destruction of property, a Howard County police spokesman said.

He was arrested earlier this week in the county on an outstanding warrant for a traffic violation in Prince George's County, a Howard County police spokesman said. While in Howard County police custody, Mr. Kohlhoff was questioned about several breaking and entering incidents in the Clarksville area.

Based on his statements, detectives charged him yesterday in connection with a June 22 burglary in the 7300 block of Sanner Road in Clarksville and a June 5 burglary in the 7000 block of Pindell School Road in Fulton, the spokesman said.

In addition, Mr. Kohlhoff's statements led police to arrest and charge Joseph Lawrence Waskey, 26, in connection with a May 30 burglary in the 9800 block of Whiskey Run in North Laurel, police said.

Mr. Waskey of the 6100 block of Turnabout Lane in Columbia's Village of Wilde Lake was still being held at the police station yesterday afternoon.
