Two men were arrested early yesterday after suspected marijuana and crack cocaine were found during a traffic stop in Eldersburg, state police said.
Tfc. Donald Harrison said in District Court charging documents that he noticed a car being driven erratically about 11:50 p.m. Monday on Ridge Road in Eldersburg. He stopped the car, and as he was explaining traffic citations to the driver, the trooper noticed what he believed to be marijuana seeds and open containers of alcohol.
Trooper Harrison said he searched the car and found nearly 22 grams -- less than an ounce -- of marijuana, hand-written receipts for drug sales, a scale and drug paraphernalia.
The trooper also said he found suspected crack cocaine residue in 25 glass vials in the car's trunk.
Charged with drug possession and distribution charges are Richard N. Greisz, 18, of the first block of Esperanza Court in Pikesville and Eric Gerard Hinerman, 18, of the 5800 block of Westchester Hall Court in Sykesville.
Mr. Greisz was in the Carroll County Detention Center last night in lieu of $25,000 bond.
Authorities said Mr. Hinerman's parents posted a $25,000 property bond to secure his release.
Mr. Hinerman and Mr. Greisz could be sentenced to more than 35 years in prison if they are convicted of all charges against them. A bail review hearing for Mr. Greisz is scheduled today.
