On the field: Camden Yards has played host to the best and worst of Boston center fielder Lee Tinsley. There were the three hits Friday night, including an opposite-field homer. But there was also the misjudged fly ball, and last night, an early base-running mistake. With one out, Tinsley on second and Mo Vaughn on first and slugger Jose Canseco at the plate in the first inning last night, Tinsley tried to steal third -- and was thrown out, bailing Scott Klingenbeck out of a major jam.
In the dugout: Jeffrey Hammonds
was out of the lineup last night, replaced in right field by Kevin Bass. Orioles manager Phil Regan said that Hammonds' reconstructed right knee usually doesn't feel so well for day games after night games, so he took him out of the lineup so he can play him today. It also gave Regan another excuse to play Bass, who has started four of the last five games.
In the clubhouse: "I thought he pitched all right. He kept us in the ballgame." -- Regan, on Klingenbeck.
