"In the big leagues, it's getting my first hit here. I'll never forget that. But in the minors, it's hitting a home run off the bull [sign in Durham, N.C.] and knocking its ear off."

Most embarrassing moment

"It was in Frederick. I thought they were announcing that night's lineup, but they were introducing the Carolina [League] All-Stars instead. I ran onto the field and then I realized what happened. I just stood out there and waved to the fans."

"I probably would be in school somewhere playing baseball or football."

"Learning the pitcher's moves and tendencies. You have to learn how quick their move is."
