Construction to close Laurel Bush Road

Replacement of a deteriorated culvert on Laurel Bush Road between Overview Drive and Falkland Road in Abingdon will cause the closing of Laurel Bush Road on or about June 20 for about one day.

Motorists are asked to follow detour signs leading to alternate routes.

Access road scheduled to be installed

Replacement of the Poteet Road bridge over the East branch of Winters Run in Jarrettsville will force the closing of Poteet Road tomorrow for about four months.

An access road will be installed from Route 23 to Poteet Road, north of Phillips Mill Road to allow homeowners and emergency vehicles to reach Poteet Road.

Tour riding academy on Farm Visitation Day

Five agricultural businesses will open their doors to the public from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 25 as part of the annual Harford County Farm Visitation Day.

The free event is sponsored annually by the Harford County Farm Bureau, Harford County Office of Economic Development and the Harford County Cooperative Extension Service.

Open for tours will be the Mount Felix Farm, a dairy and crop farm off Level Road in Havre de Grace; Mount Pleasant Orchards, off Chapel Road in Havre de Grace; Betty's Rest Saddlery and Riding Academy, Chapel Road in Havre de Grace; Lohr's Orchard, Snake Lane in Churchville; and Fiore Winery, Whiteford Road in Pylesville.

Copies of a brochure highlighting the businesses are available at all branches of the Harford County Public Library and the Cooperative Extension Service, 638-3255.
