Intruder slips into house through unlocked door

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A 48-year-old Columbia woman awoke to find an intruder standing over her bed early yesterday, but the man ran away when she screamed, Howard County police said.

Sharon Kinsley of the 6400 block of Allview Drive was not injured, police said.

Officers were investigating the incident as a possible burglary attempt yesterday, although nothing appeared to have been stolen, said Sgt. Steve Keller, a police spokesman.

The man -- who wore no shirt or shoes -- entered the home through an unlocked sliding glass door about 2 a.m., he said.
