Atlantic Coast Conference -- Fined basketball coaches Rick Barnes of Clemson and Dean Smith of North Carolina $2,500 each for their heated argument during the ACC tournament. The coaches will contribute the money to local charities of their choice.

Centennial Conference -- Elected Gettysburg president Dr. Gordon A. Haaland executive chairman. Named Washington College president Dr. John S. Toll and Swarthmore president Alfred H. Bloom to the executive committee, and Bryn Mawr assistant athletic director Lisa Boyle chairman of the administrative delegates.

Ohio Valley Conference -- Announced the addition of Eastern Illinois beginning in the 1996-97 season.

Southwest Conference -- Promoted Kyle Kallander, assistant commissioner, to commissioner, effective July 1. Named Bo Carter assistant commissioner, and Coley Jordan assistant commissioner for championships and compliance.

Duke -- Named Tim O'Toole men's assistant basketball coach.

Northeast Louisiana -- Named Tyke Tolbert tight ends coach.
