1993 Domaine de la Mourielle Gigondas ($10)

This might cost a couple bucks more at your store, but this exquisite Gigondas would be a great value at $15. It's an intense red wine from the southern Rhone -- not as full-bodied as a top Gigondas from a great vintage but with all the raspberry, chocolate, pepper and herb flavors characteristic of this underrated region. For pure hedonism, it's probably better than a "classic" Gigondas because you can drink it right now with enormous pleasure. Dream pairing: grilled leg of lamb.
