A Taneytown resident told police that someone broke into his vehicle and stole a vacuum pump while it was parked on East Green Street on Thursday. He estimated the loss at $850.
The owner of International Foreign Car at the rear of the first block of W. Main St. reported that tires on two automobiles parked at the garage were slashed Thursday. He estimated the damage at $205.
A resident of South Center Street told police someone threw a bottle at the front porch of her house and damaged a wooden shutter Thursday. She estimated the damage at $40.
An East Main Street resident reported that someone stole his 10-speed bicycle from his house Thursday. He estimated the value of the bike at $30.
The owner of a house on Webster Street told police that someone broke into it and ignited the carpet Wednesday. The damage to the vacant house was estimated at $1,000.
* Westminster: Engines from Westminster and Reese responded to two calls of a natural gas leak within 26 minutes Friday morning. In each incident, construction crews installing a large gas line struck gas lines going from the street to homes in the city. The first call was received at 9:47 a.m. from the 200 block of Pennsylvania Ave. The second call was at 10:13 a.m. from a site in the 100 block of Liberty St. Units were out 20 minutes on the first call and 17 minutes on the second call. No one was injured.
