Reds assistant manager Ray Knight told ESPN Radio yesterday that he will manage Cincinnati in 1996.
Though it is expected that Knight will take over for fellow ex-Oriole Davey Johnson as manager in 1996, the Reds have made no announcement.
"It's going to happen next year," Knight told ESPN Radio's Fabulous Sports Babe.
Knight, 42, said he has been offered the job by owner Marge Schott and general manager Jim Bowden. Johnson moves into the front office next season.
