Michigan --- Suspended football coach Gary Moeller indefinitely for an off-campus altercation. Announced assistant Lloyd Carr will assume the head-coaching duties during Moeller's absence.

Tennessee -- Extended the contract of women's basketball coach Pat Summitt for two years to 2000.

Washington State -- Named Scott Duncan men's assistant basketball coach. Announced freshman G Chris Griffin will not return to the basketball team.
