BOWIE -- Pinch hitter Ed Fully's run-scoring double in the seventh inning capped a three-run rally and lifted the Binghamton Mets past the Bowie Baysox, 3-2, before a season-high crowd of 12,483 last night at Prince George's County Stadium.
Jay Payton led off the inning for the Mets (9-11) with home run over the left-center-field wall. With two out and Frank Jacobs on first, Chris Saunders doubled down the left-field line, scoring Jacobs.
Mark Fuller and Brent Knackert limited Bowie (7-15) to one hit over the final 4 2/3 innings. Fuller earned the victory, ending the Baysox's four-game winning streak.
The Baysox led 2-0 after five innings. Jason Friedman opened the fifth with a double, then moved to third on a wild pitch. Harry Berrios reached on an error. Then Jose Millares was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
Binghamton starter Tom Engle struck out the next batter, then walked Feliciano Mercedes to force in Bowie's first run. A single by Timera Bartee scored Berrios. Fuller replaced Engle and got Matt Howard to ground into a 5-2-3 double play to end the inning.
