Two are charged with burglary


A man and a teen-ager from Joppa were arrested and charged Wednesday after a woman in the 400 block of Hardin Drive in Joppatowne heard glass breaking next door and called deputies just before 1 p.m.

Harford Sheriff's Deputy Tim Impallaria reported seeing two men inside the house as he arrived on the scene.

Deputy Impallaria chased the men as they ran from the scene, police said.

The deputy caught one man, The second got away but was arrested later that afternoon.

Harold Eugene Whitaker, 21, of the 800 block of Chatfield Road in Joppa and a 17-year-old were charged with breaking and entering, theft and malicious destruction of property.

Mr. Whitaker was released on a $10,000 bond, and the teen-ager was turned over to his parents.
