A moonlighting county police officer arrested a Glen Burnie man on burglary and drug charges Wednesday morning after a woman reported that he had tried to break into her apartment, police said.
Northern District Officer David Frendlich was working security at the Valley Brook Apartments in the 200 block of Southbridge Drive around 1:05 a.m. when he received a call of a breaking and entering in progress.
Officer Frendlich confronted a man holding a tire iron on the stairs of one of the buildings. A resident identified him as the woman's former boyfriend and said he didn't live there. The woman said her ex-boyfriend had tried to pry open her bedroom window with the tire iron, police said.
Officer Frendlich used information from the man's driver's license to find his car parked outside. In the car, he found rolling papers and a bag of marijuana laced with PCP on the floorboard, police said.
Jamore Van Johnson, 27, was charged with fourth-degree burglary and possession of marijuana and PCP. He gave his address as the apartment where his ex-girlfriend lives, police said.
