County police arrest 6 after party complaint

Officers investigating a loud party in the 1000 block of Nancy Road Saturday morning arrested six people on charges ranging from assault to drug possession, county police said.

As Northern District Officers Patrick Fisher and Richard Herard arrived about 12:20 a.m., they noticed four people standing in the street. The officers said they smelled PCP and began questioning the people, a police report said.

Officer Fisher arrested one man and charged him with possession of PCP. The same man was charged with assault and battery and resisting arrest, police said, after Special Operations Officer Clarence Whitlow was elbowed at the station. A police report identified him as Eric William Bernhardt, 24, of the 1400 block of Battery Ave. in Baltimore.

Heather Renee Schulze, 21, of the 400 block of Arbor Drive in Glen Burnie was charged with possession of marijuana and PCP after officers searched her purse.

Layton Leslie Huffman, 22, of the 300 block of Alameda Parkway in Arnold was charged with possession.

Nathaniel Jude Eckenrode, 22, of the 1300 block of Howard Road in Glen Burnie was charged with battery.

Nancy Sadie Chapin, 43, and Stanley Joseph Chapin, 21, both of the 1000 block of Nancy Road, were charged with hindering the arrests.

* Glen Burnie: Two men stole a number of shirts Tuesday afternoon from the Syms department store in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway and escaped in a gray or silver Dodge Diplomat or Fury.
