After a 25-hour auto journey from Halifax with few pit stops, a team of 11 amateur boxers from Nova Scotia will battle Baltimore-area boxers at Teamsters Hall tonight.
Trained by former Canadian Olympic coach Taylor Jordan, the Nova Scotia team features fighters from 85-pounder Andy Askri to super-heavyweight David Defiagbon.

Defiagbon, 24, has the most experience and best chance to win an Olympic berth. The Nigerian-born fighter has won 234 of 269 bouts and several amateur titles.
Jordan also has high hopes for middleweight Randall Thompson. Askri, a gifted boxer at 13, should be ready in four years.
The 15-bout show, including four exhibition bouts, will begin at 7:30. Tickets are priced at $15 and $10.
