Royal Farm store robbed by two men

Two men walked into an Ellicott City convenience store, threatened to shoot a clerk and ran away with money yesterday morning, Howard County police said.

Police patrol cars and a state police helicopter searched for the suspects minutes after the incident, but no arrests had been made in the case yesterday afternoon, police said.

According to police, the pair did not show a weapon when they entered the Royal Farm store in the 4200 block of Montgomery Road at 3 a.m. yesterday.

One suspect was described as a black male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 140 to 150 pounds. He wore a red-and-black checkered jacket, gray pants, black shoes and a red cap, police said.

The other suspect was a clean-shaven, 6-foot-tall black male weighing about 160 pounds, wearing a tan-and-black checkered jacket and black pants, police said.

Anyone with information should call Howard County police at 313-3200 or the Metro Crime Stoppers Hotline at 276-8888 to qualify for a $2,000 reward.
