Fullerton native, 101
Katherine B. Scott, a native of Fullerton, died Monday at the age of 101 at a nursing home in Holland, Pa.
The former Katherine B. Kreit attended St. Joseph's School in Fullerton. She was a waitress at Child's restaurant and moved to an office job after completing studies at the Calvert Business College.
She lived in Baltimore until 1967. Her husband of 55 years, J. Frank Scott, died in 1979.
A Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Scott was to be offered at 10 a.m. today at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church in Richboro, Pa. Graveside services were set for 1:45 p.m. today at the New Cathedral Cemetery, 4300 Old Frederick Road in
She is survived by a son, J. Norman Scott of Buckingham, Pa.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Maryland DAR regent
Martha Dietrich, a retired federal employee and a former head of the Maryland organization of the Daughters of the American Revolution, died Tuesday at her home in College Park of complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease. She was 78.
Mrs. Dietrich retired in 1970 as a civilian personnel officer for the Navy. She started her career when she moved to Washington from her native Indiana in 1937 to work for the civil service commissioner.
The former Martha Shultz was Maryland regent of the DAR from 1979 until 1982.
Services for Mrs. Dietrich were set for 10 a.m. today at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in College Park.
Her husband, E. Donald Dietrich, died in 1986. She is survived by two daughters, Florence Harris of University Park and Jean Litterst of Louisville, Ky.; a son, Charles D. Dietrich of Rockville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
