This new garden is a bloomin' miracle

Sorry if I seem rushed, but I'm busy taking the "before" pictures in preparation for the "after" appearance of my newly landscaped front yard.

The casual mention of my fantasy about a new look for our aging flower child of a front yard has turned into my husband's project of the decade.

By now, several dump truck drivers have memorized our address. Their deliveries have resulted in a charming stone wall, a new walkway and expanded (as they say in California) brown space.

Do you have any idea how much dirt and rocks can cost?

We face one of life's most stressful decisions when it becomes necessary to place a loved on in a nursing home.

Radio host Michael Hodes will be at Meridian Nursing Center in Severna Park at 7 p.m. April 25 to discuss how to manage your loved one's affairs; personal, financial and health care issues; and how to avoid family conflicts.

Mr. Hodes, an attorney, is the guest of the Meridian Family Council.

The 2-year-old family-run cooperative provides a forum for residents, nursing home staff members and families, and friends of residents to discuss matters of interest.
