Hall of Fame Bowl -- Announced a six-year arrangement with Outback Steakhouse. The Tampa, Fla., game, which has an agreement to match opponents from the Big Ten and Southeastern conferences through 2001, will be known as the Outback Bowl.

Albertson College -- Announced that it is adding women's basketball in the 1995-96 school year.

Ashland -- Named Rob Spivery men's basketball coach.

Delaware -- Named Mike Brey men's basketball coach.

Francis Marion -- Named Frank McCarthy women's basketball coach.

Temple -- Named Chris Roulhac running backs coach and Ron McCrone defensive secondary coach.

Tulsa -- Named Steve Robinson men's basketball coach.

Wisconsin -- Named Brad Soderberg assistant basketball coach.


NFL -- Approved the move of the Los Angeles Rams to St. Louis, effective with the 1995 season.

St. Louis Rams -- Announced that they did not match the four-year contract offer sheet tendered to restricted free-agent S Marquez Pope, making him a San Francisco 49er; the Rams get San Francisco's second-round pick in the draft as compensation.

San Diego Chargers -- Signed unrestricted free-agent S Bo Orlando, who had been with the Houston Oilers.

Seattle Seahawks -- Agreed to terms with S Tony Covington on a two-year contract.

CFL -- Announced that a private group formed by David McDonald and George Grant has taken control of the Hamilton Tigers-Cats, with McDonald serving as chairman and Grant as vice chairman.

Memphis Mad Dogs (CFL) -- Signed DL Charles King, CB Derrick Atterberry, OL Robert Dodd, DB Ed Berry, DB Harvey Summerhill, DB Richard Holt and WR Wayne Hawkins.

Ottawa Rough Riders (CFL) -- Named Jerry Keeling offensive coordinator, Bob Swift offensive line coach, Mike Murphy linebackers coach and Dave Hochtritt defensive line and special teams coach.


Buffalo Sabres -- Signed Brian Holzinger to a multi-year contract.

Dallas Stars -- Assigned LW Jamie Langenbrunner to IHL Kalamazoo.

Montreal Canadiens -- Recalled LW Mario Roberge from AHL Fredericton.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- Assigned G Philippe Derouville and LW Jeff Christian to IHL Cleveland.

Washington Capitals -- Recalled C Pat Peake from AHL Portland.


WTA Tour -- Announced the cancellation of the U.S. Women's Hardcourt Championships in 1995 and 1996.
