4 hurt, one seriously, in Owen Brown crash


Howard County police are investigating a two-car accident in Owen Brown Saturday that sent a 4-year-old to Johns Hopkins Hospital in critical condition and injured three others.

The child, a right front seat passenger, remained in critical condition yesterday, police said.

Two other passengers, Sylvia Carter of the 6900 block of Knighthood Lane in Columbia and Christopher Crawford, 12, were treated and released at Howard County General Hospital, police said.

The driver of the second vehicle, Kristina Konrad of the 6800 block of Waterloo Road also was treated and released at Howard County General Hospital, police said.

Police said Ms. Konrad was driving east on Snowden River Parkway about 10 a.m. Saturday when her 1981 Volkswagen hit the rear of Ms. Carter's 1986 Chevrolet, which was traveling east on Oakland Mills Road across the Snowden River Parkway intersection.

The accident is being investigated. No charges had been filed as of yesterday, police said.
