* Two television stations, one at Odenton in Anne Arundel County and the other at Havre de Grace, are part of the first multiple-relay television network in the world linking two major cities, Philadelphia and Washington. -- The Sun, May 5, 1945.

* Governor O'Conor has signed into law a bill passed by the legislature which will permit dog races -- and betting on them -- in Anne Arundel County. The bill gives the County Commissioners unlimited licensing and regulatory powers. The governor said had he known dog racing was intended, he would have vetoed it. -- The Sun, May 6, 1945.

* Rear Admiral J. R. Beardall, superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy, announced yesterday that 1,049 midshipmen are eligible to graduate from the academy on June 6. -- The Sun, May 11, 1945.
