Man sought in indecent exposure

Howard County police are looking for a man who exposed himself to a Howard High School student on Monday while pretending to ask for directions in Ellicott City.

According to police, the man drove a small red, shiny car with a loud stereo to Howard High School in the 8700 block of Old Annapolis Road about 3:30 p.m. The driver called to a female student and asked if she could show him directions on a map inside his car.

When the girl approached, the man took the map from his lap and exposed himself. He drove away while the girl screamed, police said.

* Ellicott City: 3000 block of Old Columbia Pike: Tools were stolen after someone cut a lock from a storage shed Sunday or early Monday, police said.

8800 block of Town and Country Blvd.: A brown 1982 Honda Civic was stolen between March 19 and Sunday, police said.

* Elkridge: 5700 block of U.S. 1: A gray 1988 Mitsubishi Precis was stolen from Boulevard Automotive Inc. between Friday and Monday, police said.
