Georgia, the top-ranked gymnastics team for much of the season, heads the seven-team field for the NCAA Southeast Regional on April 8 at Towson State.
The Bulldogs, national champions in 1987, 1989 and 1993, have won the past seven NCAA Southeast titles. They are top seeded with a 196.725 qualifying score, followed by Florida (195.206), Kentucky (192.856), West Virginia (192.731), North Carolina State (191.975), Towson State (191.631) and George Washington (189.075).
The Southeast Regional is one of five regionals scheduled for April 8. The five regional champions earn automatic berths in the national championship meet, April 20-22 at Georgia. Seven other teams will qualify as at-large entries in the national meet.
