Virginia-Radford proves mismatch from start, 32-1


Kurt Mueller scored five goals to lead third-ranked Virginia to a 32-1 rout of visiting Radford in men's lacrosse yesterday.

Rob Rhoads and Brad Hoag each added four goals for the Cavaliers (6-1). Zack Farantonis scored the lone goal for Radford (3-5).

* Salisbury State 15, Middlebury 4: Jason Coffman scored five goals and had three assists to lead host Salisbury State (5-0), top-ranked in Division III, over 14th-ranked Middlebury (0-2).

Sean Radebaugh and Jake Bergey each had three goals for Salisbury.


* Loyola 15, American 7: Betsy Given scored four goals as third-ranked Loyola (6-0, 2-0) defeated host American (0-5, 0-4).

* College of Notre Dame 16, Hood 6: Tinah Houck scored five goals and had two assists in the host team's victory.

* Johns Hopkins 20, Dickinson 3: Sonia Dickson and Jenn Ward each scored five goals to pace the host Blue Jays (4-1, 1-0).

* Towson State 9, Rutgers 8: Kim Wilson (Seton Keough) and Sallie Neal (Parkville) each scored three goals as the host Tigers (2-3) won.

* Goucher 13, Rowan 11: Kristin Carey (Towson) scored five goals and Courney Crangi added four for host Goucher (2-1).

* Western Maryland 15,BrynMawr 7: Amy Eggers (North Carroll), Chrissy Pardew (North Harford) and Jodi Wagner each scored three goals for host Western Maryland (1-0, 1-0).
