Man charged with holding Bowie teen at gunpoint

A Glen Burnie man was arrested on assault charges Friday evening after he held a Bowie man at gunpoint for about an hour, police said.

Officers arrived at an apartment in the 8000 block of Crainmont Drive at 4:17 p.m. and found a man with a rifle holding Sean Alan Rogers of the 12500 block of Scarlet Lane in Bowie hostage, according to police.

Police said the man was distraught because Mr. Rogers, 19, had been dating his estranged wife. Mr. Rogers escaped unharmed after police arrived. Officers said the man had threatened to kill Mr. Rogers.

Larry Weslowski Jr., 26, of the Crainmont Drive address was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault, false imprisonment and reckless endangerment.
