Carroll County Commissioners are scheduled to meet tonight with North Carroll residents who are concerned about school crowding.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Spring Garden Elementary, 700 Boxwood Drive in Hampstead.
Members of all North Carroll area PTAs are expected to ask commissioners to approve money for a proposed elementary school that would be built in Manchester by 1998.
Residents also are expected to urge commissioners to continue planning for a new middle school in Hampstead to be built in 2001.
FIRE
* Hampstead: Firefighters from Hampstead and from the Arcadia station in Baltimore County responded to a fire alarm on Crystal Court at 10:08 a.m. Sunday. Units were out 20 minutes.
Hampstead, Manchester and Lineboro firefighters were dispatched to investigate the report of a house fire in the 4000 block of Maple Grove Road at 7:25 p.m. Saturday. They learned that the fire was a controlled burning. Units were out 13 minutes.
* Manchester: Firefighters from Manchester and the Pleasant Hill station in York County, Pa., were dispatched to a brush fire on East Deep Run Road at 4:37 p.m. Saturday. Units were out 45 minutes.
* Lineboro: Lineboro firefighters responded to a brush fire in the 4900 block of Alesia-Lineboro Road at 11:30 p.m. Friday. They were out 28 minutes.
