Shopper is arrested on drug, theft charges

An Annapolis man was arrested Sunday afternoon on drug and theft charges after he tried to steal a pair of boots from a shoe store in the Annapolis Mall, county police said.

Officer Michael Homewood said the suspect fought with three mall security guards before he was subdued. An employee at Hahn Shoes told police the man entered the store shortly after 1 p.m. and walked out with a $110 pair of Timberland boots. When security guards caught him in the mall, they searched him and found six pieces of crack cocaine, police said.

Henry Brown Jr., 19, of the 1400 block of Tyler Ave., was charged with possession of crack cocaine and misdemeanor theft, police said.
