Outlook: The Capitals (7-10-6) try to keep the drive alive today against the Lightning (9-13-2), who come in off a 3-2 loss to New Jersey on Friday. The Capitals are 4-1-4 in their last nine games -- including a 1-1 tie with Tampa here Feb. 26 -- and are unbeaten in their last five. The Caps and the Lightning are tied for 12th in the Eastern Conference, as Washington missed an opportunity to move ahead of the Lightning on Friday night, when it was forced to settle for a 2-2 against Ottawa. Rookie G Jim Carey will start his sixth consecutive game for the Caps, who will be without RW Pat Peake (mononucleosis), C Dave Poulin (groin) and G Rick Tabaracci (back). Tampa Bay reports LW Mikael Andersson (groin) and C Denis Savard (shoulder) are day-to-day.
