Glendening to address Chamber of Commerce

Gov. Parris N. Glendening will be the featured speaker at the Howard County Chamber of Commerce's general membership meeting at noon March 16 at Columbia Inn, 10207 Wincopin Circle.

Advance tickets are $25 for chamber members and $30 for nonmembers.

Tickets purchased at the door will cost $5 more. Registration the day of the event will begin at 11:30 a.m.

AlliedSignal names Debnam as vice president

Henry W. Debnam has been appointed vice president and director of field services for AlliedSignal Technical Service Corp. in Columbia.

He will be responsible for managing the field services business unit, which includes nearly 2,000 people and 37 contracts at more than 40 international locations.

Lenehan is named executive director

J. Richard Lenehan of Woodbine has been named executive director of Homewood at Williamsport retirement community in Williamsport.

Mr. Lenehan has more than 13 years of experience as a health care executive. He was executive director and administrator of Copper Ridge in Sykesville.

Blake joins board of Howard chamber

Paula Blake of Howard County public schools has joined the Howard County Chamber of Commerce's board of directors. She is assistant to the superintendent for school-business relations.

Scouts select Eyre to head campaign

Ron Eyre, president of Glenelg-based Eyre Bus and Travel, has been elected chairman of the leadership campaign for the Boy Scouts of America's National Pike District.

Mr. Eyre and supporting chairman George Doetsch, president of Apple Ford, are responsible for raising $12,000, this year's goal.

Zehner receives Blue Vase Award

James W. Zehner of the Business Men's Assurance Co. of America's Columbia office is recipient of the Blue Vase Award.

The award is given to top qualifying new agents after their first three months on the job.

Rhead is awarded platinum certificate

Columbia psychologist John C. Rhead was awarded the platinum certificate for 20 years of participation in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.

He is a senior partner in the Columbia Center for Counseling and Psychotherapy.

Del Rosso joins board of Helping Mission

Columbia chiropractor Joseph Del Rosso was elected to the board of directors of Helping Mission in Baltimore.

He has been in private practice since 1985.

Pickford is hired by Apollo International

Apollo International Hair Systems in Columbia has hired Tom Pickford as a hair restoration and styling technician.

He has attended Oral Roberts University, graduated from Richards Beauty School and lives in Jessup.
