Stephen Cohen joins Vision Associates
Dr. Stephen Cohen, an optometrist for the Army for the past 20 years, recently joined Vision Associates in Aberdeen.
Dr. Cohen has worked throughout the United States and in Korea. His last assignment with the Army was at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
He is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Optometry and the University of Southern California. He was recently made a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Cohen lives in Bel Air with his wife, Tina, and their three children.
Troyer co-chairs education committee
Diane K. Troyer, vice president of academic and student affairs at Harford Community College, is co-chair of a statewide committee working to simplify General Education transfer credit at Maryland colleges.
The proposal, which requires approval by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, would standardize transfer of General Education program credits and assure a smooth transfer between institutions across the state.
The committee includes administrators from two- and four-year institutions throughout Maryland.
Deleaver named to academy board
Rep. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. has named Douglas Deleaver of Abingdon to his Academy Nominations Review Board.
Mr. Deleaver, a 25-year veteran of law enforcement, is executive assistant to the superintendent of the Maryland Natural Resources Police and acting chief of the Administrative Services Division.
As a member of the board, he will help evaluate applications submitted by students who wish to attend one of the nation's service academies.
