When second-seeded South Carolina State takes on host Morgan State in today's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men's tournament quarterfinals, the Bulldogs (14-12) will be missing two key members in coach Cy Alexander and junior forward Desi McQueen.
Alexander, who is 128-104 over eight seasons at South Carolina State, has been suspended while the school investigates alleged NCAA rules violations regarding the recruiting and eligibility of McQueen.
McQueen, 6 feet 8, 235 pounds, who returned from an injury-riddled sophomore season to average 10.4 points and 5.5 rebounds this year, has been ruled ineligible.
