A Glen Burnie man was arrested Saturday afternoon on a charge of exposing himself to an undercover officer in Sawmill Creek Park, county police said.
Officer Roger Crawford was working a stakeout in the park on Dorsey Road between Interstate 97 and Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard about 5 p.m. when he saw a man walk into the woods in the back of the park. He followed the man and watched him engage in a sex act, police said.
The man suggested that he and Officer Crawford return to his van, police said. Officer Crawford told the man to meet him behind a nearby school. When the man arrived at the location, Officer Crawford identified himself and arrested the man, police said.
Hiram Joseph Smoot, 52, of the first block of Roosevelt Ave., was charged with indecent exposure, police said.
Father is charged with hitting daughter
A 16-year-old Millersville girl was treated for a possible broken jaw Saturday night after her father allegedly punched her several times on a Glen Burnie street, county police said.
The girl was treated at North Arundel Hospital for a swollen cheek, a swollen lip, a black eye and two scratches beneath her eye, police said.
She told police her father had pushed her to the ground and punched her several times, police said.
Witnesses said a man grabbed the girl by the hair, arms and shoulders and dragged her to a car parked in the 7300 block of E. Furnace Branch Road shortly after 9:30 p.m. Once inside the car, the man punched the girl several times.
The 48-year-old suspect was charged with child abuse and battery, police said.
