Los Angeles Lakers -- Announced that C Sam Bowie (fractured rib) will be sidelined at least a week and that F George Lynch (stress fracture in right foot) will be out four to six weeks.

Minnesota Timberwolves -- Released C Charles Shackleford (4.5 ppg).


Phoenix Suns -- Announced that F Charles Barkley skipped practice because of a sore left knee that he said was not seriously hurt.
