* Ellicott City: 10300 block of Cavey Lane: Someone broke the glass of a garage door, entered and then kicked open a door leading into the main house Friday. The burglar ransacked the house, searched the attic and took a cordless phone, police said.
* Elkridge: 5800 block of Steepridge Drive: A man in a black ski hat fled when a resident checking strange noises outside a home's rear sliding glass door saw him Friday night, police said.
